Live by the Law - The Law of Giving and Receiving
Published April 20th, 2008 in Affirmations, Law of Attraction, Life, Money, New Thought, The Secret, spiritualIn this world of give me, take and get for free this most important means to receiving what we want has been largely ignored. It is in our holy books yet even the most religious amongst us ignore this law.
A law is a set of regulations or steps that when followed will produce a defined result. Like the law of gravity. Throw a ball in the air and this law says it will come back down. Or the law of momentum. Push an object on wheels and it will continue to move by its own weight until it runs out of energy.
This law is no different. It defines action which when followed will produce a result. The only difference between this law and the other physical laws is that this one is ruled by forces outside of our physical world. Yet it can’t be ignored. Many have proven that when they give they will ultimately receive back. The spiritual texts even promise a multiplied return.
So often we desire something and even pray for it. But this law tells us we need to give something in order to receive. Everybody has something to give, starting with a smile and a greeting. You may have knowledge or a skill to use to help and assist others in need. You may have money and everybody has time. A few minutes to listen to someone is a great gift.
Giving will open the way for receiving that which you desire. Never expect to get something for nothing. If you give nothing you will receive nothing. Give freely and you will freely receive. Now all you need to do is define what you would like to receive and start looking for opportunities to give.

I write about con men. After reading this it is only apparent that the gap is so far from religious thought of any kind that you’ve gotta wonder if these scam artists are even living on the same planet with genuinely honest, principled people.
How right you are, Jack. I have first hand experience of such a deceiver. Its take take all the way.
All the best with your writing.
Great post Jim. it is very true that we often simply want want want, control by our own ego. Interesting fact indeed: “It is in our holy books yet even the most religious amongst us ignore this law” Thanks
